Little Stories of Great Composers

The best way to approach music is with open ears and curiosity, and this is very true for the main character in Ana Gerhard’s book series Little Stories of Great Composers. The books follow Mimin the mouse as she hears music from Mozart, Vivaldi, and Tchaikovsky. And you can listen and learn along with her! The series takes the form of a physical book as well as an audio recording to be listened to simultaneously.

Gerhard’s new series of books, Little Stories of Great Composers.

In an interview with ICAN, Gerhard said that Mimin drew inspiration from her own life as she has a curiosity and a deep appreciation for music (and cheese). Gerhard studied as a concert pianist at the Mexican National Conservatory, and has gone on to give concerts, as well as teaching piano.

Her previous books have also been focused on sharing music with children and helping them engage with the sounds of the world around them. Many of them focus on music in nature such as birdsong and water. Her books have been published in English, French, and Spanish.
